Mandatory Online Policy Exam for Newly Appointed Staff

All newly appointed staff must study the University's policies and pass the online policy exam before assuming duty. Your exam certificate is required to collect your Staff ID Card.

Important notice: Your Staff ID Card will not be issued without a printed copy of your exam certificate. Please complete the exam as early as possible after your appointment.

At its 389th (Special) Meeting, the Academic Board approved a proposal for newly appointed staff to take an online course on the University's policies before assuming duty. This ensures that all staff understand and are familiar with the norms of the University.

How to complete the process

Follow the six steps below in order.

  1. Study the Mandatory University Policies

Access the University's policies at www.knust.edu.gh/about/knust/policies. Study all twelve mandatory policies; the exam covers all of them.

    1. Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy
    2. Gender Policy
    3. Health and Safety Policy
    4. Disability Policy
    5. Equality and Diversity Policy
    6. Ethics Policy
    7. Quality Assurance Policy
    8. Maintenance Policy
    9. Teaching and Learning Policy
    10. Research Policy
    11. Policy on Examinations
    12. Mentoring Policy
  2. Set Up Your KNUST Login Credentials

Visit id.knust.edu.gh to reset your University login credentials. You will use these credentials to log in to the exam portal.

  3. Wait 2 Hours for Your Credentials to Activate

Your new credentials take about two hours to become active across University systems.

Tip: If your login fails on the exam portal, wait until the full two hours have passed before trying again. Resetting your credentials again restarts the wait.

  4. Log In and Write the QAPO Online Policy Exam

Go to exams.knust.edu.gh, log in with your KNUST credentials, and open the QAPO Online Policy Exam.

Before you start: Use a stable internet connection and on the KNUST network.

  5. Print Your Certificate

Upon successful completion of the exam, your certificate will be available in the exam portal. Print a copy.

  6. Collect Your Staff ID Card at QAPO

Bring the printed certificate to the Quality Assurance and Planning Office (QAPO) for your Staff ID Card.
